I have a 16G microSD with all my photos, over 1000 from a recent holiday overseas. The phone and Samsung 10 tablet, both advise to format disk. I have not done this, I am hoping to recover the photos on the micro SD.

Connect the microSD card to your computer through a card reader device then use either this software or Recuva to recover all your photos. Instruct the application's pattern search to look for image files only then you will be able to restore them.
